The Reverend Dr. Ann F. Lightner-Fuller is the esteemed pastor of the Mt. Calvary African Methodist Episcopal Church in Towson, Maryland. A native of Raleigh North Carolina, her pastoral ministry began in April 1983. Since her appointment in 1986, Mt. Calvary the membership has grown from 150 to more than two thousand. Under her spiritual leadership the members of Mt. Calvary liquidated a one million dollar mortgage in just five years. In September of 2003, Rev. Lightner-Fuller and her congregation purchased property adjacent to the church to construct an Education and Family Life Center. This facility multi-million dollar facility opened in June of 2012.
Rev. Lightner-Fuller currently serves as a member of the Baltimore Annual Conference Board of Examiners, a Conference Trustee, and as the Second Episcopal District Treasurer for General Conference Sustentation. In July of 2004, during the 47th Session of the African Methodist Episcopal General Conference held in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was appointed to serve on the General Board of the A.M.E. Church. God continues to call Rev. Lightner-Fuller to a higher level of service within the African Methodist Episcopal Church and around the world. In February 2006, Pastor Fuller was selected to represent the A.M.E. Church at the World Council of Churches in Brazil.
Pastor Lightner-Fuller is a woman of many “firsts.” She served as the first coordinator of Women in Ministry for the Second Episcopal District of the A.M.E. Church, she was the first woman to preach the Annual Sermon in the historic Baltimore Annual Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 1990, she was elected the first woman to serve as president of the Baltimore A.M.E. Ministerial Alliance, in 1992,and she was the first woman to preach at the Morning Worship Service at the historic Hampton University Ministers’ Conference, in 1996.
Rev. Lightner-Fuller attended Boston University where she received her undergraduate degree in communications. She holds a Master’s in Theology from St. Mary’s Seminary, the Ecumenical Institute, Baltimore, Maryland. She received her Doctorate of Ministry from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
Rev. Lightner-Fuller is the author of two books, And Your Daughters Shall Preach: Developing a Female Mentoring Program for the African American Church, and Desperate People: Sermons for Times Like These. Her sermons have also been featured in the African American Pulpit, the AME Reviewer, and several other publications.
Rev. Lightner-Fuller is married to Reverend Stanley Fuller, Executive Minister at Mt. Calvary, and former pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. Together, the Fullers have four children, one daughter-in-law, three granddaughters, Aliyah Brooke, Lawren Victoria, Laila Nicole and one grandson, Victor Amir.
Rev. Lightner-Fuller proclaims the joy of the Lord as her strength and loves being in the service of the Lord. She confesses that her life had no real meaning or direction before accepting Christ as her personal Savior. Now, He has made something beautiful out of her life.

As an ordained minister and former elected official, Jackson has lectured and preached for diverse audiences in North America, Europe, The Bahamas, Africa and other locations around the globe. Rev. CJ is a trailblazer among women in the political arena. Mentored by the late U.S. Congresswoman Barbara Jordan, Jackson followed in Jordan’s footsteps by serving in various sectors of government service for two decades. She holds the distinction of being the first African American woman elected to a city council position in the 153-year history of Galveston County when she was elected to the City Council of Texas City, Texas in May 1992. Prior to this historic election, Jackson served as district chief of staff for the Dean of the Texas Senate, Primary Elections Administrator for the Texas Democratic Party, and chief consultant for numerous successful political campaigns.
The History Makers, a national, video oral history archive dedicated to preserving African American history, based in Chicago, Illinois, selected Jackson as a “Civic History Maker” and chronicled her historic election to the city council position in Texas City and her precedent setting involvement in Texas politics. After serving five terms as an elected official, Jackson retired to devote her full attention to ministerial endeavors.
Rev. CJ’s multi-disciplinary educational background includes political science, theology, economics, psychology, sociology, and spirituality. Her work experience includes civic leadership, business development, foreign affairs, biblical studies and pastoral care. Jackson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Divinity from the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from the Harvard Divinity School Certificate Program in Leadership Development. While pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at the ITC, she served as student body president, Presidential Fellow, and was the recipient of the Isaac R. Clark Preaching Award. On March 26, 2010, ITC honored Rev. CJ with the James H. Costen Emerging Leader Award. A prolific writer, she has been published in The Journal of the Interdenominational Theological Center and has been a contributing writer for several religious publications and Essence Magazine Online.

Dr. Jasmin “Jazz” Sculark, The Daughter of Thunder is a native of the Island of Trinidad and Tobago. Dr. Jazz is the Senior Pastor of Jericho City of Praise in Landover, MD and the Founder and President of Dr. Jazz Ministries.
She is nationally and internationally known as Pastor, Teacher, Author and Evangelist that God has chosen to use to do a mighty work in this 21st Century. Pastor Hatcher prides herself in being an ecumenical preacher. This spirit has allowed her the gracious opportunity to share her ministry gifts with churches of diverse and various denominations in Metro Detroit and beyond. Beyond the four walls of the church she considers it a privilege to have shared with the Wayne County Youth Detention Facility, the Women of Genesis House and the Detroit Rescue Mission (DRMM), among others. Pastor Hatcher is a member of the Baptist Pastors of the Detroit Area & Vicinity and serves on board of the Ecumenical Theological Seminary Alumni Association (ETSAA). She also holds membership in several professional organizations. After close to 35 years in a leadership role at AT&T, Pastor Hatcher recently retired. While at AT&T she received numerous accolades, commendations and certifications and was well respected for her integrity as a leader and her commitment to mentor and coach those whom The Spirit sent her way.
Pastor Hatcher holds a BA from Spring Arbor University (Spring Arbor, MI) and a Master’s of Divinity from Ecumenical Theological Seminary (ETS) in Detroit. Presently she is a doctoral candidate at ETS with an expected graduation date of May 2015. Her dissertation work focuses on Sexual Responsibility within the church. Pastor Hatcher is peacefully single and lives in the metropolitan Detroit area.
Rev. April Hearn is a worshiper and lover of God. Born to Geraldine McLaughlin Hearn and Willie Hearn Jr., she was lovingly raised by her maternal Grandparents Fernandis and Sarah McLaughlin (both deceased) of Meridian, Mississippi.
After preaching her initial sermon in 1998, she was licensed to preach the Gospel in January of 2000 in Little Rock, Arkansas. In 2001, after moving back to Detroit, Rev. Hearn joined with the New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Wilma R. Johnson, and she served for 11 years as the Minister of Children and Youth. While in this position, Rev. Hearn developed Bible studies for youth and children in addition to mentoring programs. Rev. Hearn also creates the yearly curriculum for the At the Lighthouse Afterschool Program, housed at New Prospect, and the NP Summer Camp, which is a three week summer program for children stressing the importance of reading, math, science and healthy living. Rev. April, as she is lovingly referred to by the congregation of New Prospect, has a deep love for young people and desires to see them live their BEST life for Christ.
Not only is Rev. April active serving within the walls of New Prospect, but she is also a sought-after preacher and conference presenter for people of all ages and backgrounds. She has served as the Keynote Speaker for the United Negro College Fund’s Annual Martin Luther King Day Prayer Breakfast, the Detroit March of Dimes and others. She was also selected to preach during the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons for Wonderful Wall Street Wednesday, which is a series of mid-week worship services held in the Financial District in New York, NY. Rev. Hearn credits much of her growth and development to the servant-leadership of Pastor Wilma R. Johnson. She considers Pastor Johnson to be her greatest mentor. On November 15, 2009, Rev. Hearn was ordained to the Gospel Ministry and she currently serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Pastor.
Rev. Hearn has earned a B.S. Degree in Secondary Education from Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana, a Masters in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College in Detroit, MI, and a Masters Degree in Divinity from Ecumenical Theological Seminary, also in the city of Detroit.
Her favorite Scripture is Psalm 34:1 which states, “I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth”.
Author and Professional Speaker: It is no coincidence that Daon McLarin Johnson’s favorite animal is the lion. Growing up under the watchful eye of a heralded community activist and decorated master educator, Johnson was taught at an early age the importance of leadership, activism and community development. Anita Newby is a woman committed to God and dedicated to advancing the kingdom of God in the earth. Growing up in the home of a pastor, Anita was introduced to God at an early age and soon after, discovered a passion for ministry. As her natural gifts and her spiritual understanding began to collide, she found herself serving in various areas of ministry including worship arts, teaching and administration. Music became a focal point as God unveiled to her the necessity of praise and worship in His kingdom.
Desiring to develop an excellence in her gifting, she attended Wayne State University where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Music. During this time, she also felt the call of God on her life to preach, prophesy and teach His Word. Under the leadership of Bishop Wayne T. and Dr. Beverly Y. Jackson of Great Faith Ministries International in Detroit, she continued to train and develop as a minister of the gospel. She taught in the Christian Education department and the School of Ministry and developed curriculums for various courses. Administratively, she assisted in organizing conferences and special events for the ministry. In 2006, she answered the call to five-fold ministry and was released to relocate to New York State where she served faithfully as Pastor of Worship Arts and overseer of the Singles and Prayer Ministries.
In June of 2008, God called her back to Michigan for the next phase of ministry. She currently serves as Pastor of Worship Arts at New Covenant Life Ministries in Port Huron, MI under the leadership of Apostle Veter Nichols. As a psalmist, praise and worship leader, pastor and teacher, she flows with a strong prophetic anointing in all aspects of her ministry.
Rev. Smith is currently the Health and Wellness Pastor and an Associate Minister at the UMOJA Christian Church in Indianapolis, IN, under the mantle of Rev. Dr. Donald R. Hudson.
Rev. Smith holds a Master of Arts in Ministry with a specialization in Pastoral Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University-Purdue University (IUPUI) Indiana. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry at Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit, MI. Rev. Smith was called to the preaching ministry in April 2001 and subsequently licensed in 2002 by Rev. Dr. Houston McLendon at the Trinity MB Church in Aiea, HI. She was ordained April, 2012 by Rev. Dr. Donald Hudson at Umoja Christian Church.
A preacher by calling, Rev. Smith has been an RN by trade for 14 years. She has worked in multiple specialties in nursing and is currently a Nurse Consultant for Life Care Centers of America. Rev. Smith seeks to integrate a biblical approach to health, wellness and spirituality which is imperative for the church community.
Rev. Smith is a member of Chi Eta Phi, Inc. Chi Eta Phi is a nursing sorority whose motto is “Service for Humanity”. The sorority focuses on health promotion/disease prevention in the community, offering education, promotion, and prevention strategies for the community. Rev. Smith has been married for 25 years to Ronnie Smith and they are the parents of three daughters - Brittany, Bridgette, and Sheronne, one son - Kameron, and one grandson - Dominic.
Pastor Venetia D. Waters is living the God-kind of life as a pastor, praise and worship leader, motivational speaker, wife, mother, sister and friend. She is a Godly role model for her four beautiful children. Through prayer, patience and perseverance, Pastor Venetia is blazing a trail for God’s kingdom and is fulfilling her destiny.
Pastor Venetia was the fourth child born to the late Oris & Loretta Pruitt of Greenville, North Carolina. At the age of twelve, she heard the voice of God proclaim that she would “Preach and prophesy to nations.”After excelling in her leadership roles in her church, she preached her initial sermon on March 17, 1985 under her pastors and God-parents, Bishop Joseph N and Pastor Annie Perry. In 1992, she was elevated through the levels of ordination as an Elder and later ordained a Pastor.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Missouri State University and a Master’s Degree in Education from East Carolina University. Pastor Venetia is the founder of LOVE, Inc (Ladies of Virtuous Excellence).
Since 1986, Pastors Esau and Venetia Waters have been committed to taking God’s Word to a hurting and lost generation. They have served as pastors, pastor assistants and elders in various ministries throughout the world. They have four children—Emmanuel, Jared, Candace and Keturah.
